Thelma Self, 84 of West Baden Springs, Indiana entered into eternal rest on February 25th, 2026 at Springs Valley Meadows.
She was born in Gary, Indiana on May 19th, 1941 to Wallace and Alvenia (Brosmer) McFarland.
Thelma married Frank Self on June 19th, 1960 and he preceded her in death on May 28th, 2015.
She was also preceded in death by her Parents.
Thelma was a 1959 graduate of Springs Valley High School, member of Beechwood Christian Church and retired from Dr. Hagen’s office after many years of serving patients in the valley.
She enjoyed gardening and decorating her home, but most of all she loved spending time with her family.

Daughters – Michele Self of West Baden Springs, Indiana
Joni Randle (Donny) of Lebanon, Tennessee
Brother – Keith McFarland of Knoxville, Tennessee
Sisters – Martha Taylor of Columbiana, Ohio
Carolyn McFarland of Hardeeville, South Carolina
Grandchildren – Chloe Guerra (Cole) and Jonah Randle
The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to the nurses and staff of Springs Valley Meadows for the compassionate care they provided to Thelma and her family.
A Funeral Ceremony will be Saturday, February 28th, 2026 at 12:00 p.m. (Noon) at Beechwood Christian Church with burial to follow at Patoka Memorial Cemetery.
Visitation for family and friends will be on Saturday, February 28th, 2026 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service on Saturday at Beechwood Christian Church.
