Funeral services for Sgt. Maj. Thomas L. Berry will be 2:00 P.M. Monday, December 2, 2024, at Ligon & Bobo Funeral Home with Bro. Jacob Lannom officiating. Interment with military honors will follow at Wilson County Memorial Gardens. Visitation Monday 12 – 2 PM at Ligon & Bobo.
Mr. Berry, age 89 of Lebanon passed away Wednesday, November 27, 2024, at his home.
Born May 4, 1935, in Scottsboro, Alabama, he is the son of the late Clarence and Vera Mae Petty Berry. He retired in 1986 from the United States Army after thirty years of active duty. He was a member of Cedar Grove Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Linda Fleming Berry on March 8, 2020; a son, Thomas Lee Berry Jr., two granddaughters, Jennifer Tallman and Heather Berry; sister, Elizabeth Bishop; and two brothers, Charles, Aaron and Jerry Berry.
He is survived by four children: Teresa Ann Berry, Doreen (John) Emerick, Mark Wilkerson, and Millie (Brad) VanHook; four grandchildren: Hope Morris, Thomas J. Berry, Jacob Emerick, and Arrington VanHook (Easton) Thorne; three brothers, Aaron, Eugene, and Paul Berry; several great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.
