Ronnie Samuel ‘Sammie’ Windsor, age 88, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 13, 2024.

Preceded in death by parents, Dalton Levi Windsor and Thelma Marie Windsor; sister, Faye Horner.

Survived by loving wife of 69 years, Doy Mai Windsor; children, Danny (Robin) Windsor, and Michael (Debbie) Windsor; 2 grandchildren, Leah (Kevin) Isenberg, and JoAnn (Joe) Keeton; 3 great-grandchildren, Sarah and Joseph Isenberg, and Jimmy Keeton.

Sammie retired from Genesco where he worked as a talented shoe pattern engineer for over 40 years. He loved spending time with family. In his teenage years, Sammie was a talented and tenacious basketball guard for Centerville High School, where he graduated as Valedictorian of his senior class. In his early adult years, he enjoyed fishing on Kentucky Lake with his son, Danny.

In later years he enjoyed wading and fishing on the banks of Beaverdam Creek with his son, Michael. He also enjoyed working in his vegetable garden “on the hill,” and was an avid checker player, known for his fierce strategy and competition. During his lifetime, Sammie was a faithful member of the Camden, Coble, Central Pike, Lebanon Road, and Green Hill Church of Christ. He will be missed by all.

Gathering of family and friends will take place on Monday, August 19, 2024 from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. and Tuesday, August 20, 2024, from 10 a.m. until the funeral service, beginning at 11 a.m. at Bond Memorial Chapel. Interment to follow at Mt. Juliet Memorial Gardens.
