Mr. Ronnie Capps age 77 of Lebanon was pronounced deceased at 8:32 p.m. Tuesday evening September 3, 2024 at the Vanderbilt-Wilson County Hospital Emergence Room in Lebanon shortly after arrival with C. P. R. in progress.
He was a resident of the Quality Health and Rehabilitation Center in Lebanon since June 16th receiving therapy for a broken leg.
Bro. Jim Wilburn, pastor of Carthage First Baptist Church, will officiate at 3 p.m. Friday afternoon September 6th funeral services from the Carthage Chapel of Sanderson Funeral Home. Burial will follow at the Rock Springs Cemetery in the Buffalo Valley Community.
The Vietnam veteran will be honored for his U. S. Army military duty with chapel services by the American Legion Post # 57 of Carthage.
The family will receive friends on Friday only from 1 p.m. until the 3 p.m. services at Sanderson in Carthage.
Mr. Capps was the youngest of nine children, five daughters and four sons and was the son of the late Larry Stanley Capps who died at the age 93 on March 17, 2009 and Elsie Mae Henderson Capps who died almost six months later at the age of 92 on September 15, 2009.
One brother, Jerry Capps preceded Ronnie in death.
Ronnie was born Ronnie Dale Capps in Nashville on July 19, 1947.
In Gallatin on May 22, 1971, he was united in marriage to the former Diana Marie Bates.
Mr. Capps was retired from the aerospace industry where he was a sheet metal fabricator working on airplane wings. He was employed for over thirty years and retired in 2019 from the former Voit Aircraft Corporation.
Mr. Capps was a non-denominational Christian.
Surviving in addition to his wife Diana of fifty three years are their three daughters, Carrie Capps of Hermitage, Shannon Thompson and husband Jimm Jr. of Nashville, Ashley Capps of Lebanon; seven siblings, Patricia Burke of Hendersonville, Judy Weaks and husband Charlie of Madison, Dorothy Rohrer of Joelton, Connie Farr and husband Jay of Gallatin, Francis Capps of Nashville, Larry Capps and wife Mary of Mount Juliet, Bill Capps of Nashville; five grandchildren, Brandon Capps of Lebanon, Ciera Capps of Hermitage, Jayden Haney and Isaac Haney both of Lebanon, Nicholas Thompson of Nashville.
