Robert Scott Williams Obit

Robert Scott Williams, age 76, of Mt. Juliet, Tennessee, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on December 18, 2025. He was born on May 18, 1949, in Beckley, West Virginia, to the late Robert Lee Williams and Mary Ann Williams, and was the beloved brother of Charles Williams.

Robert spent much of his early life in Hornell, New York, where he graduated from Hornell High School and began his career as a welder at Foster Wheeler in Dansville, New York. On August 4th, 1984, Robert married Nancy, the love of his life, in a beautiful ceremony at Letchworth State Park in New York and would have celebrated 42 years of marriage. A hard worker with a strong sense of purpose, he later fulfilled a dream by building a log home with his family in Bath, New York. Those years were filled with love, laughter, and memories that will forever be cherished. After retirement, Robert and Nancy made their home in Tennessee.

Robert gave his life to Jesus Christ, a decision that defined who he was. His Bible was rarely far from reach, and daily time in God’s Word was the foundation of his life. His faith was not just something he spoke about, it was something he lived. He opened his home and his heart to many, quietly pointing people to Christ through his kindness, humility, and steady example. Even through illness and hardship, Robert’s strength came from his trust in God and his deep love for his family.

Robert found joy in life’s simple moments-listening to music, reading and studying his Bible, completing his daily devotions, mowing the lawn, and sitting with his family. He found fulfillment in his faith, family, and a life of faithfulness.

A devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend, Robert’s greatest joy was his family. He rarely missed a game, recital, performance, or milestone. He showed up consistently, lovingly, and without fanfare. His encouragement was steady, his presence reassuring, and his love unmistakable. Robert was a faithful church member and will be remembered for his gentle spirit, warm smile, and unwavering faith. He leaves behind a legacy of quiet strength, faithfulness, and unconditional love.

Robert is survived by his beloved wife of 41 years, Nancy Rebecca Williams; his children, Melissa Williams, Sara (Mark) Cherry, Sonya (Matthew) Hicks, Timothy (Olena) Williams, and Rebecca (Ryan) Badeau; his grandchildren Melinda, Danielle, Abigail, William, and Matthew Hayflinger; Grace, Sofia, and Olivia Cherry; Jacob, Noah, and Caleb Hicks; Chloe and David Williams; and Emma and Tyler Badeau; his brother Charles (Nella) Williams; and many nieces, nephews, and dear family members. He was deeply loved and will be profoundly missed.

A celebration of Robert’s life will be held on January 3rd at First Baptist Church Mt. Juliet, 735 N. Mt. Juliet Road, Mt. Juliet, TN 37122. Visitation will begin at 2:00 p.m., followed by a Celebration of Life service at 3:00 p.m.
