Robert Michael Gann, 71, began his eternal residence in his Father’s House on April 16th, 2025, from St. Thomas West in Nashville, TN. Mike was born to Robert and Clara Harlow Gann on November 27, 1953 in Romulus, Michigan.
He was a Warren County High School graduate in McMinnville, TN where he grew up playing baseball and football. He attended Kennedy-Western University and received a Bachelor of Science degree in Health Administration. He served for 6 years in the Army National Guard, and 6 years in the Air Force, where he recognized his passion for organ procurement.
After his honorable discharge he pursued his life’s work with organ and tissue donation networks. During his career, he worked with organizations such as Carolina Donor Services, Joint Restoration Foundation, and CryoLife.
He married Teresa Odom Gann on May 18, 2001, sharing almost 24 wonderful years together. Mike is survived by his loving, devoted wife, Teresa, children Kami (Tony) Smith, Amanda (Lee) Chau, Ashley (Eric) Bright, Scott (Sarah) Nichols, and Alicia Clark.
Mike is also survived by grandchildren Kelsi, Tucker (Chelsea), Tessa, Bella, Braxlee, Asher, Ansley, Axton, Crimson, Sam, Eli, Henry, Sadie, Bennett, Grayson and Caleb (Amira) and Zach (Elvira); great-grandchildren Elijah, Jaxon, Lincoln, Sophie, Murphy June, Jackson and Mila; siblings Patricia Gann Lea (Ken), Bobby Gann (Rhonda), and Johnnie Ruth Sanders (Ed), brother-in-law Garrett Henry, and a large extended family.
Mike was preceded in death by his parents, sister Robbie Gann Henry. Mike was a generous and loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He had an infectious laugh and was known for his goofy sense of humor.
When the weather was nice, he could be found playing golf or “hiking” and enjoying nature. He was a hard worker and pitched in on the family farm and was recognized by his coworkers for his devotion to his profession. Mike’s profession wasn’t just a job, but a field in which he found value and deep personal belief.
The gift of life through organ and tissue donation was a core belief that Mike carried with him to the very end. Mike’s greatest passion was sharing his love of God with others. He spent countless hours devoted to study of the Bible with his family, church family, friends, and strangers sharing God’s love and sacrifice for them.
