Mrs. Peggy Joyce Deweese Thompson passed away on Tuesday, March 11, 2025 at 7:00 AM at the Hospice House in Bowling Green, KY.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 13, 2025 from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Gilbert Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc. Visitation will continue on Friday, March 14, 2025 from 9:00 AM until 1:00 PM at Eastside Missionary Baptist Church, 210 East Street, Franklin, KY 42134. Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 14, 2025 at 1:00 PM at Eastside Missionary Baptist Church with interment to follow in Greenlawn Cemetery in Franklin, KY.
Peggy was the daughter of late Walter V. (Preacher) Deweese and the late Wilma E. (Stinson) Deweese.
She is survived by 2 Daughters, Judy Reynolds (Roy) of Franklin, KY and Angela Thompson of Bowling Green, KY; a brother, Mickey Deweese (Bonita) of Bowling Green, KY; 3 nieces, Michelle Walker, Donna Stanton and Kelly Bennett; 12 great nieces and nephews; her fur baby, Sophie Grace and grand fur baby, Jax.
Peggy was born March 8, 1942 in Franklin, KY. She is a member of Eastside Missionary Baptist Church, she was saved and started taking piano lessons at 8 years old. She started playing the piano at Eastside Missionary Baptist Church at the age of 12. She a graduate of Franklin-Simpson High School, class of 1960. She was a bookkeeper at Franklin Lumber Company and also worked at Deweese Construction Company. Peggy enjoyed to play the piano, play solitaire and watch hallmark movies.
