Funeral services for Mrs. Nancy Ray King Grubbs, age 87 of Alexandria, are scheduled to be conducted on Tuesday July 7, 2026 at 2:00pm from the chapel of Hunter Funeral Home in Watertown. Bro. Dusty Desimone will officiate and interment will follow in the Caraway Cemetery in Gladeville, TN. Visitation with the family will be held on Monday July 6, 2026 from 5:00pm until 7:00pm and again on Tuesday one hour prior to the funeral service.
Mrs. Grubbs passed away on Sunday June 28, 2026 at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville. She was born February 1, 1939 to the late Edward Martin and Nannie Lee Cartwright Martin in Gladeville, TN. Nancy graduated from Lebanon High School and was a homemaker. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Gordon King; second husband, Earl Grubbs; daughter, Vikki King Heydel and her husband Steve; brothers, Johnny (Diane) Martin and Tommy Martin; and brother in law, Raymond Carson.
Mrs. Grubbs is survived by her daughter, Cindy Denise Lawson of Alexandria; grandchildren, Aaron Hester, Mitchell Lawson, and Trevan (Amanda “Nikki”) Lawson; great-grandchildren, Bailey and Shyanne Hester, Keiley, William Caden, and Aleecia Lawson; sister, Molly Carson of Gallatin; sister-in-law, Linda Tate of Mt. Juliet; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Aaron Hester, Mitchell Lawson, Trevan Lawson, Tony Martin, Jeff Martin and Eddie Martin.
