Mrs. Mildred Louise Owen Scott, age 91 of the Beckwith Community passed away very suddenly at her home on December 14, 2024.
She was born in Nashville on February 24, 1933, daughter of the late Claiborne Owen and Mandy Denney Owen.
She grew up in the Beckwith Community, Mount Juliet, Tennessee. She attended the one room schoolhouse in Beckwith. She married Lewis Griggs Scott, who passed away on November 26, 2024 and he attended Riverview School, graduated from Mt. Juliet High School, and served in the Marine Corps. They were married and lived seventy two years in the Beckwith Community. She was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brother J. W. Owen and her sister Mary Elizabeth Ulrich.
She is survived by three sons, Al (Lee) Scott, Morgan (Mary) Scott, and Dr. Jim Scott (Dr. Vickie Montgomery); seven grandchildren: Tina Scott, Amy (Josh) Tate, Aaron (Trisha) Scott, Bryan (Falon) Scott, John Owen Scott, JeSuis’ Andrew Scott, and Josiah Scott; 12 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
She loved her church, her family and her many pets, which she cared for over the years.
Funeral service for Mrs. Mildred Louise Owen Scott will be at 2:00 P.M. Thursday, December 19, 2024, at Ligon & Bobo Funeral Home with Bro. Tommy Echols officiating. Interment will follow at Wilson County Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be the grandchildren. Visitation Thursday 12 Noon until service at Ligon & Bobo.
