Lewis Ray McDonald II passed away on Sunday, November 6, 2022, he was 35 years old.
Lewis Ray McDonald II was born in Athens GA to Debra Kay Maddox and Lewis Ray McDonald.
He worked for Shenandoah Mills. Lewis loved Jesus, his church, his family, and fishing. He was a member of the We Do Recover Community.
Lewis is survived by his wife Brittani McDonald; father: Lewis McDonald; children: Spencer Casper, James McDonald, Avery McDonald, Skyler McDonald, Katlynn Duff, Chyenne Maddox, and Chloe Maddox; siblings: Davey Adcock, Raya Newbern, and Miranda Adams; and the We Do Recover Community.
He is preceded in death by mother Debra Maddox.
What does Recovery mean to me

Recovery for everyone is very different, People are in different walks of life and have had different experiences throughout life. Some would consider it easy while others would consider it more challenging. Recovery can come in many forms. As for me, recovery is more than just staying clear and sober. It is being a good friend, as good father, a good son, a good husband, a good man all around. I have to say staying away from drugs and alcohol are also a big part of it. I have found that focusing on being a child of God, a follower of Jesus, make recovery easier. Recovery for me has been an opportunity to see just what I am capable of. It’s not something I have to do, it’s something I get the chance to do. Recovery is an opportunity to fix all the mistakes I’ve made in my past. I can’t change the past but I can use it as a guide of what not to do in my future because I know what my past choices have led to. So, to make a long story short, recovery is a chance at a new life, a better life, a new beginning in the right director. Recovery is the privilege to become the man God created me to be.
