JUNE P. SOWELL – age 88 of Lebanon formally of Hermitage passed away Thursday, February 27, 2025 in American House Lebanon Assisted Living surrounded by her loving family. She is preceded in death by her parents, Ernest & Violet Partlow; loving husband, Charles Sowell, and her sister, Jeanne Partlow Alsup.
June is survived by her two daughters, Karen (Guy) Morgan & Janet (Don) Darden; three grandchildren, Chris (Kat) Morgan, Katie (Matthew) Haywood, and Taylor (Morgan) Darden; she is also survived by her great grandson, Max, niece, Amy (Scott) Barrow, and a nephew, Dallas Bass, two step-grandsons, Richie Morgan, Joey (Brooke) Morgan, and seven step-great grandchildren; and numerous cousins.
June P. Sowell was a Christian, daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was a member of Hermitage United Methodist Church for 46+ years.
June felt her special call from God to be a teacher, serving in Metro Nashville Public Schools for 30 years. She considered each student as another of her children. She enjoyed traveling, knitting, reading and being with friends.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 6th from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. in the Partlow Funeral Chapel, 602 South Cumberland Street, Lebanon, Tn 37087. Funeral services are being held in the Hermitage United Methodist Church, 205 Belinda Drive, Hermitage, Tn 37076 at 11:00 a.m. Friday, March 7th with visitation one hour prior to the service. Pastor Allen Black, Pastor Jimmy Hendricks & Pastor Moses Han will officiate the funeral services. Honorary pallbearers, Chris Morgan, Matthew Haywood, Phil Meador, Joey Parker, Dallas Bass, Stewart Stanford, Richie Morgan & Joe Morgan.
