Julie Bernice Malone Harrison was born January 18, 1969 to the most amazing, hardworking, Christian parents, the late Jack Malone and Myra Parker Malone. Julie passed away on Friday, August 25, 2023.

She and her sister, Angela Malone Lannom grew up in a loving home and had perfect childhoods. Julie’s late grandparents, Arch and Inez Oakley Parker and Roy Malone had such positive and deep influences in her life. She unfortunately didn’t have the opportunity to know her late grandmother, Bernice Neal Malone but was always told she was a lot like her.

After Julie and Keith were married on March 18, 1994, she was blessed to know and love Keith’s parents, Thermon Neal Harrison and the late Bertie Ree Robertson Harrison.

Julie had a deep love of many things. She loved the beach, a good book, traveling, cooking, her back porch, the outdoors, and, exceedingly, home. Most of all she cherished her husband, Thermon Keith Harrison; her children, Jonathan Carwin (Bethany) Harrison, Jacob Neal (Amelia) Harrison, and Macy Inez Harrison (Evan) Potts; her grandchildren, Jack Malone Harrison, Wade Carwin Harrison, and Banks Campbell Harrison; and her 14 year old devoted Maltese, Khloe Isabella Harrison.

Julie is thankful for her friends group who have been beside her through life and her illness: Bobbie Eastes, Heather Haley, Lora Stutts, Marsha McGuire, Melissa Taylor, her childhood through adulthood best friend, Deborah Cantrell, and her sweet friend at work, Patrice Hynek.

Julie also has a special place in her heart for her nephews, Parker (Gabby) Teague, Chase Lannom, and her brother-in-law, Mark Lannom.

Julie was a lifelong learner and valued education. She graduated from Watertown High School and continued her education receiving her Bachelors and Masters degrees from Middle Tennessee State University and her Educational Specialist degree from Tennessee Technological University. Julie worked for Wilson County Schools for 28 years.

Her heart was always serving under resourced students in order to give them a hand up and remove barriers they may have in their educational experiences. The last four years she served as the English as a Second Language Director. She is most proud of the district’s ESL Program and the opening of The Welcome Center in 2021. Special thanks to Mr. Jeff Luttrell and Dr. Jennifer Cothron for years of at heart dedication, servant leadership, and support.

Julie was a member, elder, and treasurer at Commerce Cumberland Presbyterian Church.

Services will be held on Sunday, August 27, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. at Hunter Funeral Home in Watertown. Reverend Kevin Medlin will officiate. Dr. Denny Shepard and Evan Potts will assist. Visitation 2-8 p.m. Saturday and Noon till service time on Sunday. Pall Bearers will be Charles Taylor, Jason Haley, Jeremy Redmon, Kenneth Stutts, Kirk Eastes, Mark Lannom, Robert McGuire.
