Funeral services for Johnny Smith, age 70, are scheduled at 1:00 pm, Friday, January 7, 2022, at Sellars Funeral Home Lebanon with Gordon Baines (nephew) officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 11:00 – 1:00. Interment will follow in the Fairview Cemetery, Norene, TN.
Mr. Smith died on January 2, 2022, after several years of battling cancer.
Johnny is survived by his loving wife of 28 years, Debby Smith; stepsons Dr. Aaron Pryor (Mandy), Andrew Pryor (Mindy); grandchildren Owen, Olivia, Evan, Melanie, Braden, and Drew Pryor; sister Mary Gordon Pawlawski (Eddie). Pall Bearers are Owen Pryor, Braden Pryor, Evan Pryor, Robert Bland, Robin Davis, Jimmy Davenport, and Eddie Pawlawski.
Born November 8, 1951, and raised in the Norene community, Mr. Smith was preceded in death by his parents John and Mary Ruth Williams Smith. He was a member of Lebanon First Baptist Church, a graduate of Middle Tennessee State University, a longtime sales representative and manager for Diamond Hill Plywood, and a man held in great respect by his family and friends. He enjoyed grilling, golfing, UT and Titans, working with his brother-in-law Danny Tidwell, watching westerns, and spending his retirement time with family. He was a helper at heart.
