James Parker AKA ‘Double’ AKA ‘Yo-Yo’ Baird, age 80, of Mt. Juliet, Tennessee passed away on Sunday, August 27, 2023.

James was born in Nashville, TN and was the son of the late, James Ernest Baird, Jr. and Mary Sarah Bradford Baird.

He was a member of Green Hill Church and a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps serving in Vietnam. James was an avid golfer, a history buff, and could repair anything. He loved animals and his mother-in-law’s cooking. James considered his family his greatest gift.

He was also preceded in death by his siblings, Jamie Elkins, Ernestine Polk and James Ernest “Bobo” Baird, III.

He is survived by:
Wife of 44 years – Connie Baird
Children – Brett, Bartt (Allison), Matthew (Lindi), Brittney, Codie, Jake, Elijah (Danielle), Bradford and Samuel
Sister – Jackie (David) Hoffman
Grandchildren – Jett, Ethan, Kailey, Brooklyn, Lana, Rhett, Eliott, Emilee and Banks

Graveside services with military honors will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, September 1, 2023 at Middle Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery. Sons will serve as pallbearers.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project or Tunnel to Towers.
