Imogene Kincaid passed away Wednesday January 14, 2026 at the age of 92.
Imogene was proceeded in death and reunited with the love of her life and husband of 69 years, Joe Kincaid. Also preceded in death by her parents, William and Hazel Shoemake; sisters, Billie Clifton, June Patti, Mary Jones; and brother Charles Shoemake.
Survived by her daughter, Cindy Kincaid Holland (Labron); grandson, Jeffrey Holland (Alyson); great granddaughters, Kate and Olivia Holland.
Imogene’s father was a preacher where he had a little mission church, in his home, this is where her love of gospel music formed and grew. Her family had a gospel group known as “The Shoemake Family Singers.” She founded several gospel groups which included, “The Campers Trio”, “The Singing Twenty”, and “The Kincaid Singers”.
Imogene was a piano teacher for 20 years in the Donelson area, she was a song writer with having written over 100’s gospel songs. After retiring she started a ceramic business in her home for the love of painting. Before fully retiring she spent many hours in her home recording studio making CDs of gospel music for her family and friends.
Imogene loved music, art and painting, but most of all she loved the Lord more than anything. If you knew her, she was telling you all about her love for Him.
Visitation will be Sunday, January 18, 2026 at Sellars Mt Juliet from 2:00pm-6:00pm, Monday January 19, 2026 from 12:00pm-1:00pm, with the funeral service to follow at 1:00pm with Andrew Wharton officiating. Burial will take place at Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
