Funeral service for Mrs. Helen Coots Austin will be 2:00 P.M. Sunday, July 12, 2026, at Ligon & Bobo Funeral Home, 241 West Main Street, Lebanon, with Joe Austin officiating. Interment Cedar Grove Cemetery. Grandsons and grandsons-in-law will serve as pallbearers. Visitation Sunday 1-2 P.M.
Mrs. Austin, age 73 of Whiteville, Tennessee, and formerly of Lebanon, passed away July 3, 2026, at her daughter’s home in Germantown near Memphis.
Born April 8, 1953, in Chattanooga, TN, she is the daughter of the late Elbert Grady Coots and Lois Lucretia Strickland Coots. She was a 1971 graduate of Lebanon High School. Having grown up in the College Street Church of Christ in Lebanon, she was a member of the Church of Christ at Stanton. A homemaker most of her life, she kept children in her home for over twenty years and worked in e-commerce for Coots Imagery for fifteen years. A lover of the outdoors, she loved gardening and watching the hummingbirds around her feeders.
She is survived by her husband of fifty-six years, Andy Austin; two children: Ricky Austin and Rachel (Chris) Galbreath; grandchildren: Haley (Garrett) Blankstrum, Sadie Austin, Natalie Austin, Jessica (Brandon) Davis, Christopher (Emily) Galbreath, Carter Galbreath, and Cole Galbreath; five great-grandchildren: Noah, Bowen & Rose Davis, Adeline Galbreath, and Mavis Austin; and brother, Bobby (Pat) Coots.
