George Allen Picard Jr., age 54, of Lebanon, Tennessee, passed away on Tuesday, October 24, 2023.
Born in Kenitra, Morocco, he was the son of the late George Allen Picard, Sr., and Brenda Jeannine Emshwiller.
For many years, George worked in the construction industry, crafting high-end homes in the Seattle, Washington area. He owned and operated an array of businesses over the years in many different industries from construction to music.
Additionally, he ventured into the restaurant industry, running businesses like Grub-N-BBQ and Wings & Things, where his love for cooking and community thrived. George had an incredible passion for music and collected pieces from all genres, although you could always find him with country music playing in the background.
In his final weeks, he fulfilled a lifelong dream by attending the Grand Ole Opry. At his core George was a people person, known for striking up conversations with everyone he met. His vibrant personality and passion led him to start Big Bear Recycling, aiming to address environmental concerns related to used tires. He engaged with people globally, from small business owners to congressmen.
Above all else, was his unwavering love was for his family. George was a loving husband, uncle, and papa. To his wife, he was a devoted husband. George was compassionate, loving and supportive. He was always there for her in any way she could ever ask. He was a source of wisdom and fun for his great nephews, great niece, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, always ready to share stories and guidance.
Though George may no longer be with us, his memory lives on in spirit through the love and cherished moments he shared with all of us. We’re grateful for the time we had with him and will carry him forever in our hearts.

Grandchildren – Tyler Pumphrey, Nicole Moore, Sara Ford, Justin Pumphrey, Charles Pumphrey, Elijah Pumphrey, Gabriell Pumphrey, Piper Pumphrey, Ashtyn Black and Addison Black
Great Grandchildren – Tucker Pumphrey, Miranda Moore, Miles Moore, Brayden Ford, Phynix Ford, Riley Ford, Presley Ford, Grayson Ford and Christian Pumphrey
Memorial Services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday, November 4, 2023, at Riverside RV Park pavilion near Kilgore, TX. Interment will follow at 2 p.m. at the Cowboy Church located on the same grounds. Family and friends are invited to come and share in fond memories and stories.
