Dotty Cannon, age 92, entered her heavenly home on March 23, 2026 in Lebanon, TN. Dotty relocated to Lebanon, TN in 2020 soon after her husband, George, passed away to be near her children in Tennessee.
Dotty Jane Wadlington Cannon was born in Kuttawa, KY in October 1933 to Corinne Yates Wadlington and William Hardy Wadlington. Dotty married George Cannon, Jr. and together they moved to Northwest Indiana for work in the ironworking industry. They raised four wonderful children and were blessed to share 64 years together. Cooking and caring for her family brought her great joy and fulfillment. Her German Chocolate and Coconut cakes were her trademark at potluck dinners at church. Dotty drove a school bus for more than 25 years and was retired from Calumet Bus Company in Gary, IN. She loved her fellow drivers and the joy of serving special needs children. She was a long-time member of Barrington Ridge Baptist Church in Hobart IN and Dotty loved the Lord and led her children to the Lord at a young age. She had a big and loving heart and enjoyed an active social life. Playing Rook card games with friends and family on the weekends was one of her favorite memories. In her later years when she was unable to get out, Home Shopping Club brought her lots of joy.
Dotty is preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, George Cannon, their daughter Sandra Clausen, her parents Corinne and Hardy Wadlington, and siblings Billy and Bobby Joe Wadlington, and Margaret Walton.
