Donna Rice Weiss

Donna Rice Weiss, age 57, passed away on Tuesday, November 2, 2021 with her husband by her side.

Donna, daughter of Denver and Linda Rice, was born on March 24, 1964 in Smithville, TN. She grew up and attended school in Madison, TN, and graduated from Madison High School in 1982. Donna met Dale Weiss in 1990 and they were united in marriage on Valentine’s Day, 2000.

Donna was passionate about her four-legged children. She had a love for cats and would do anything to make sure they were happy. Then there was Christmas… Donna loved all things Christmas and started full house decorating right after Halloween. In some ways, you could say she was one of Santa’s elves with all her joy of the season. At least twice a year she would find a way to escape to God’s country “Minnesota” as she enjoyed visiting the in-laws. Even though she never could adjust to the cold winters, she was accepted by all. Everyone loved her kindness, smile, big heart, quick wit, and that Southern accent. To this day, she was so amazed that people would sit on a frozen lake and fish all day. Donna liked life simple and didn’t care about keeping up with the Jones’s.

Giving more than she got; loving with all that she had. Forever… lost way too soon.

Donna is survived by her husband, Dale Weiss of Mt. Juliet, TN; parents, Denver and Linda Rice of Madison, TN; sister, Teresa Rice McMahon; sisters-in-law, Sharon Weiss and Sandra (Rod) Lindquist; brother-in-law, Dan (Lisa) Weiss; her four-legged children, Molly and Earnhardt, Sr. and many nieces and nephews. Donna was preceded in death by her brother, Charles Jeff Rice, and her father and mother-in-law, Herb and Ruth Weiss.

Funeral services will be conducted at 3 p.m. Sunday, November 7, 2021 at Bond Memorial Chapel. Private interment will be in the country where Donna will be surrounded by nature in a place she loved to be. Pallbearers will be Dan Weiss, Matthew Weiss, Chad and Erica Rademacher, Tanya Lindquist-Fleegel, Tom and Nina Lemke and Gabe Sorey.

Out of respect for the family, masks will be required.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Alive Hospice (1718 Patterson Street, Nashville, TN 37203), who helped bring smiles and laughter to Donna with their care.

Visitation will be 1-3 p.m. Sunday at Bond Memorial Chapel, N. Mt. Juliet Road, and Weston Drive, Mt. Juliet, TN. (615) 773-2663. www.bondmemorial.com
