Donald Emery Ragsdale, age 88, of Mt. Juliet, Tennessee passed away on Tuesday, October 24, 2023.
Donald was born in Columbia, TN and was the son of the late, Emery Alexander Ragsdale and Nellie Ann Baker Ragsdale.
He dedicated his life to his craft as a mechanic. However, Donald was not just a mechanic; he was a true automotive enthusiast and a talented racer. He raced at Nashville Speedway and Highland Rim among other tracks. Donald was also an avid fisherman, finding solace and tranquility in the great outdoors.
In addition to his parents, Donald was also preceded in death by his wife, Anita Fay Ragsdale; his sister, Mildred Baker Johnson and daughter, Tish Thompson.
He is survived by:
Children – Dwight (Anita) Ragsdale, Lisa Cook, Amy (George) Leaver, Donald E. (Donita) Ragsdale, Jr., Carynell (Eric) Carson, Cannie (Lynn) Marlin Watts, and Tony Marlin
Grandchildren – Andrew Cook, Jessica Acosta, Kasey Watson, Cody Allen and many other grandchildren
Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday, October 28, 2023 at Bond Memorial Chapel. Interment will follow at 2 p.m. at Knob Creek Baptist Church Cemetery in Columbia, TN. Pallbearers will be Dwight Ragsdale, Andrew Cook, Brian Baker, Dennis Acosta, Lynn Watts and Tony Marlin. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Friday at Bond Memorial Chapel, N. Mt.
