OBITUARY: Constance Schneider Gowder

Connie Gowder, age 63 of Mount Juliet, died Sunday, August 8, 2021.

Born Constance Susan Schneider March 20, 1958 in Pittsburgh, PA.

Principal, President/CEO, and founder of Connico Incorporated in 1990, Connie provided leadership and oversight on a wide array of major infrastructure projects transforming airports, roadways, and communities countrywide and building Connico Inc. into a leading, national construction consultancy. She built her background in construction and management working for H.J Schneider Construction, Inc. in Cranberry Township, PA, Boyken International, Inc. in Atlanta, GA, Standard Construction Company subsidiary of The Hardaway Company, in Dallas TX, Rogers-O’Brien Construction, in Dallas, TX and Teal Construction, Inc., in Dover, DE. Connie graduated with her B.S. Business Administration/Construction Management at Minnesota State University and later earned her Master of Education/Aerospace while growing Connico and raising her eldest daughter as a single mother.

Connie was a member of AACE International, Airport Consultants Council, American Arbitration Association, American Association of Airport Executives, Associated Builders & Contractors, Dispute Resolution Board Foundation, Kentucky Aviation Association, National Society of Professional EngineersSAVE International, Society for Marketing Professional Services, Society of American Military Engineers, Southeast Chapter, American Association of Airport Executives, Women’s Transportation Seminar and Vistage.

Daughter of Harold and Rose (Viviano) Schneider of Green Tree, PA who preceded her in death. A proud mother of Emily Rose and Brooke Dian Yie Gowder. Sister of Harold Jr. (Elizabeth) David (Deborah)and Daniel(Brenda)Schneider. She leaves behind a community of family, friends, and colleagues who were truly inspired by her undaunting spirit in everything she did.

A memorial will be held at Sellars Funeral Home, Mt. Juliet, TN on September 4, 2021 with visitation beginning at 9 am, service at 11 am, with a reception to follow at Connico office.
