Connie Darlene Shrum entered into eternal rest at Alive Hospice in Murfreesboro on Saturday, June 7, 2025 at the age of 71. Her cremated remains will be inurned during a Graveside Service on Friday, June 13, 2025 at 1 p.m., Ridgewood Cemetery (107 McGinness Ave), Carthage TN. Brother Steve Nabors will conduct the service.
Connie Darlene Shrum was born May 2, 1954 in Carthage TN to Dorothy Mae Key Shrum and Guy Thomas Shrum. She was 3rd in the top 10 of her 1972 Smith County graduating class. She received her BS degree from MTSU in 1977 and furthered her education to receive her Masters degree in 1980 from MTSU.
Her career as a school psychologist began in the Smith County school system for approximately two years, then she continued as Sumner County School Psychologist until her retirement in May 2013 after 34 years.
Connie was a lover of beautiful things, especially from the Victorian era. She was a fur baby mama to her many beloved cats. She loved her family, especially the kids. She found great pleasure in spoiling everyone on Christmas and birthdays.
Connie was saved and baptized in her early teenage years, becoming a member of East Carthage Baptist Church.
Connie is preceded in death by her parents Dorothy and Guy Shrum, and grandparents Rhoda Belle and Sam Shrum, and Dona Belle and Nade Key. She is survived by her siblings Michael (Rena) Shrum of Lebanon, Judy (Earl) Thornton of Carthage, and her many loving nieces and nephews.
