Charlotte Louise Baker age 79 of Mt. Juliet, Tennessee passed away on January 20th, 2026 and went on to be with her lord and savior Jesus Christ.
She attended Nashville Tech and obtained an Associate’s degree. She worked for the banking industry for 38 years.
She loved Art, Genealogy, and flowers. She was the administrator for the McDowell DNA project as the clan archivist. She was also the Tennessee Representative for Clan McDougall. She also wrote the clan newsletter “The Vincent Vel Mori”. She was also honored with the Title of “Kentucky Colonel” by Governor Matt Belvin.
She believed in integrity, loyalty and grace through faith in her Lord Jesus Christ. Charlotte attended Hermitage Presbyterian Church.
She is survived by her loving husband, David Andrew Baker of 27 years. Her daughter Caryn Crowston, sister Molly Heber.
She had two grandchildren, Megan Dunn and Michael Halfacre, And two Great granddaughters Luci and Zoey Halfacre. She also has many Nieces and nephews (5) Votta; (4) Baxter; (6) Sullivan; and (2) Heber. There are many great as well as great-great nieces and nephews also.
Charlotte was proceeded in death by her parents, Charles L McDowell Jr and Eva Marie Crow McDowell, her brother Charles L McDowell III, her (3) sisters Ann Marie McDowell Votta, Yvonne McDowell Sullivan, and Joyce McDowell Baxter and her son Richard B. Halfacre.
Visitation will be at the Sellars Funeral Home in Mt Juliet, TN. Wednesday, January 28th, 10am to 2pm. Service at funeral home will be at 2pm officiated by the Reverend Leslie Traylor.
She will be buried at Mt Juliet Memorial Gardens.
If the pending inclement weather is still bad on Wednesday, January 28, 2026, services will be moved to Friday, January 30, 2026 same time.
