Born on March 1, 1935, to Earl Hooper and Mary Troutt Manning.
Bette was raised on a farm in Castalian Springs. She had a wonderful childhood. While playing in her doll house the Lord saved her soul at an early age and joined Old Hopewell Missionary Baptist Church.
Married William E. Thompson at the age of seventeen, the bond between them lasted 64 years and to this union four children were born. The following words were from Bette: I have had such a blessed life, please do not grieve – Rejoice! I have gone home, please join me, I will be waiting.
Preceded in death parent: Earl Hooper and Mary Troutt Manning, and Husband: William Ellis Thompson, Grandson-In-law: Jason Pack, Great-Great Grandchild: Graham Ellis Roberts and beloved dogs Tuck and Sally.

Bette Thompson’s Graveside service will be held on Tuesday, December 9, at 2:00 p.m. at Bradley Cemetery.
The family requests that all donations be made to the Great-Grandchildren’s college fund. Donations can be made through the Funeral Home.
