Bernard (Bernie) Leo Godin, age 83, of Mt. Juliet, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on June 13, 2025. A devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, Bernie was born on January 5, 1942, in Lawrence, Massachusetts.
Bernie was a US Airforce veteran and proudly served as a firefighter with the Nashville Metropolitan Fire Department and was well known for his love of fishing and Nashville sports. His strong hands and kind heart left a lasting impression on everyone he met.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 63 years, Quindal Mills Godin; his children, Dawn Hooper (Chip), Patrick Godin (Sue), and Denise Godin; grandchildren CJ, Katie, Hannah, Lizzy, Keith, Chase, and Cameron; and great-grandchildren Freya and Emma Dean.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Leo and Myrtle Godin, and his brother, Alan Godin. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Tunnel to Towers Foundation, in honor of Bernie’s life and service.
