Benjamin Alfred Rodda Jr. age 84, passed away peacefully, on May 31, 2022, surrounded by his family in Mt. Juliet, Tennessee.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Benjamin Alfred Rodda, Sr. and Penelope Ancilena Rodda; brothers, Ted (Lucille) Rodda, Sr., and Bennie Ray Rodda; sister, Betty (Chester) Lewis; and infant daughter, Ginger Ann Rodda.
He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Edith Ann Rodda; children, Benjamin (Christine) Rodda, Jonathan Rodda, and Daniel (Angela) Rodda; grandchildren, Lydia Ann, Aaron, Ginger, Sarah, Hannah, and Benjamin; and several nieces and nephews.
Known his whole life as B.A., he was born on November 12, 1937 at his family home in Palatka, Florida. After high school, he served in the Army Reserves. He met Ann in 1960 at the First Baptist Church in Homestead, Florida, where they were married in 1964. After he graduated from William Carey College in 1966, they eventually settled in North Palm Beach, Florida, where they raised their three sons.
They moved to the Nashville area in 2008 to help with their triplet grandbabies. For more than 15 years, B.A. served customers as a cashier at Lowe’s in Florida and Tennessee until retiring at the age of 82.
The Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, June 4, at 3 pm at Sellars Funeral Home at Mt. Juliet. The Visitation will precede the service at 2 pm.
Interment will take place at Palatka Memorial Gardens, Palatka, Florida on June 7.
