Barbara was preceded in death by father, Jack Ford; brother, Johnnie Ford; family friend and boss, Dr. Floyd Ray “Tony” Taylor.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory: daughter, Amanda (Jason) Buchardt; son, Chase Carter; mother, Ruby Ford; grandchildren, Shianne Burchardt, Jordan Burchardt, Jayden Burchardt, Josephine Carter, and Holden Carter; siblings, Susan Kratzer, Jacky Kingsbury, Robert (Diane) Ford, and Mike (Kama) Ford; nephews, Kasey Kingsbury and Jacob Kingsbury.

She will be dearly missed by all her special caregivers at Providence Place of Mt. Juliet & The Gardens Memory Care, American House Senior Living Facility, and Gentiva Hospice. All of these special people, too numerous to mention, provided Barbara with love and dignity in her life and also in her death.

As a young adult, Barbara went to work as a Dental Assistant for Dr. Floyd “Tony” Taylor’s practice, Southeastern Dental Center. Her entire career was spent with Dr. Taylor, where she retired after 40+ years.

Barbara’s life was a testament to her desire to live life to the fullest. She had an unwavering love for travel and enjoyed exploring new places, often finding joy on the water at the beach or up in the mountains skiing in the snow. She also had a passion to learn and loved an opportunity to excel in new things. Baking, riding motorcycles, and preparing others’ taxes are just a few to include.

Barbara had an appreciation for flowers and was an avid gardener, always finding joy in nurturing the beauty of nature. Reading brought her happiness and she was often found with a book in her hand.

Her love for her family was immeasurable, and she was a source of unwavering support for her children, always ensuring they knew the depth of her love. Her greatest joy was being a “Nana” to her 5 grandchildren, with whom she each had a special bond. Her kind and loving spirit made a lasting impact on everyone she encountered.

Barbara’s legacy of hard work, love, and compassion will live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate to know her.
