Andrew Thomas “Tommy” Lea
Tommy was born January 3, 1938 in Lebanon, Tennessee to the late Herman and Joan Lea. He married Pat on March 9, 1962. He has one daughter Lisa (James) Bryan, one granddaughter Kelly (Zach) Smith, and two great-grandsons Nick and Reed Smith. He is also a special “Pop” to Jamie, Veronica, Justin, Sandy, Tristan, Arwen, Gavin, Jayson, Aimee, Jasper, and Corbin Bryan.
Tommy was raised in Lebanon by his aunts Gertie, Nell, and Cora Mai Lea. He and Pat met at the local skating rink where they skated every weekend. At 18, he joined the Army National Guard and proudly served 11 years. As young, dirt poor newlyweds, Tommy and Pat lived in an upstairs one room apartment affectionately named the “treehouse”. In 1966, Tommy moved his young family to Manchester when he was hired by Duck River Electric. He worked at the Manchester office for 30 years as a lineman/foreman before retiring.
After moving to Manchester, he and Pat discovered a new hobby, archery. It quickly became more than just a hobby. It brought them lifelong friends that he still spoke to often. After retirement, Tommy kept busy always finding work to do on his tractor and backhoe, helping people, looking for ways to grow youth shooting, and serving the Lord. The last 3 years, Tommy was faced with several health problems and spent the last year and a half as a resident of McArthur Manor in Manchester.
Tommy got the joy of going to Heaven on Sunday, March 2, 2025 at the age of 87.
