Amy-Lane-Horstmeyer

Amy Lane Horstmeyer, age 48 of Lebanon, crossed the victory line on October 25, 2023 after she gracefully persevered through her cancer journey.

Amy devoted her life to helping others in every aspect of life. She could make a difference in your orthopedic needs, your special occasion with unlimited creativity in catering as she was owner of Shortcakes Catering. Amy even made a difference in the lives of many other people throughout the world as she mentored those with the same cancer diagnosis.

She is survived by her husband of almost 30 years, John Horstmeyer, and the two young men that were the “why” in her life, sons Zane (Danica) Horstmeyer and Zach Horstmeyer. Amy didn’t gain wings at the end of her life; she gained those wings the very second her boys laid eyes on her as their angelical mother. She was always so proud of every accomplishment and never underestimated the smallest ones. Amy completed her earthly life by enjoying her dream home built by her husband, with the decorations in place just as she dreamed.

Amy is also survived by her siblings Stacy Lane, Tracy (Shane) Lening, Sawyer (Savannah) Lane, and Martin Wauford, numerous nieces and nephews, mother and father-in-law Janet and Roy Horstmeyer, sister-in-law Sebrina Horstmeyer, 2 fur daughters, Sophie and Millie, and life-time friend that she enjoyed bullying, Tonya (Donnie) Self.

She is preceded in death by parents Walter Lane and Janie Davis, and special friend Wayne Rollins.

The Celebration of her Life, conducted by Brother Brandon Patton, is 1 p.m. Saturday, October 28, 2023 in the chapel of Sellars Funeral Home, Lebanon TN. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 10 a.m. until the service at 1 p.m. Honorary Pallbearers Dr. Roy Terry, Stacy Lane, Sawyer Lane, Zane, Zach, and John Horstmeyer.

Special acknowledgments to every one of Amy’s Warriors that contributed to her journey, Dr. Ciombor with Vanderbilt University Medical Center Oncology, and MD Anderson in Houston TX.
