Aida Elizondo-Chavez passed away on Sunday, April 21, 2024, peacefully at home surrounded by her family, at the age of 66, in her adopted hometown of Lebanon, TN.

Predeceased by her parents, Arturo and Lilia (Rossell) Elizondo; brother, Alfonso Elizondo; sister, Aurora Elizondo; niece, Alyssa Resendez; and father-in-law, Pat Chavez.

Aida’s memory will be honored and kept alive by her surviving husband, Edward W. Chavez; daughter, Clarissa (Juan) Santacruz; brother, Arturo, Jr.; sister, Analicia (Danson) Trotti; sister, Alma (John) Hinshaw; brother, Albert (Clarissa); sister, Araceli (Jose) Resendez; baby brother, Abraham; 16 nephews and nieces; 16 grand nephews and nieces; many cousins; a large extended family; countless friends; and her two dogs, Willie and Enzo.

Aida was born on June 17, 1957 and raised in Laredo, TX.

Aida was a 1975 graduate of Raymond and Tirza Martin High School and attended San Antonio College. In 1982, she met a young man (Edward W. Chavez), in San Antonio, TX. They married two years later and spent nearly 40 years of marital bliss.

For many years, Aida found immense pride in her career in the healthcare field and as the Claims & Remits Manager for Experian Health Technology specializing in hospital system solutions for hospitals and health systems. Aida was an amazing problem solver navigating the complexities of the healthcare industry across the country.

She loved traveling, cooking, baking, sewing, and creating many crafts, including wreath making. Aida was an extraordinary and intelligent woman, who tackled life with integrity, determination, and grace.

Aida Elizondo-Chavez will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, aunt, sister, friend, and confidant. Her spirit of generosity, kindness, and care will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to cross paths with her.
