The City of Mt. Juliet announced upcoming traffic changes tied to a roadway improvement project along Old Lebanon Dirt Road.
Beginning March 9, eastbound traffic will be closed on Old Lebanon Dirt Road from North Mt. Juliet Road to Cedar Drive. That eastbound closure will remain in place through May 22. Starting May 23, the project area will move to a full closure. Construction is scheduled for completion by June 30.
The project includes adding a westbound left-turn lane at North Mt. Juliet Road, eliminating split phasing and reducing delays through the entire intersection. Crews will also install a channelization island for the northbound right-turn lane to help shorten pedestrian crossing distances.
In addition to the intersection upgrades, Old Lebanon Dirt Road will be repaved. City officials say the combined improvements are designed to enhance traffic flow and create a safer environment for drivers and pedestrians.
