The City of Mt. Juliet is preparing for a predicted winter storm this weekend, and Mayor James Maness is urging residents to take the forecast seriously and prioritize safety.
In a video message shared with the community, Maness said the city has 150 tons of salt available, along with five plow trucks and brine trucks ready to pretreat roadways ahead of the storm. Crews will be working to prepare roads as conditions change.
Maness asked residents to stay home and avoid travel if possible, noting that emergency responders and essential workers will need clear access to roadways. He encouraged everyone to remain cautious and focus on staying safe as winter weather moves through the area.
The mayor also reminded residents to prepare ahead of time and be mindful throughout the storm.
