Mt. Juliet Police Corporal Jacob Berti has been named the department’s June Officer of the Month after helping identify a suspect connected to multiple vehicle burglaries in Nashville.
According to the Mt. Juliet Police Department, Berti was patrolling the Shiloh Plaza area on June 17 when he noticed a suspicious person and began investigating.
Police said Berti determined the individual was connected to numerous vehicle burglaries in Nashville, including several reported within an hour before the suspect was spotted in Mt. Juliet.
The department said Berti’s actions likely prevented additional vehicle break-ins in Mt. Juliet while also leading to the recovery of stolen property that was returned to its owners.
After identifying the suspect, Berti coordinated with the Metro Nashville Police Department, whose investigators responded and arrested the individual in connection with multiple vehicle burglaries in Nashville.
The Mt. Juliet Police Department recognized Berti for his vigilance, initiative, and proactive police work, saying his efforts helped protect both residents and visitors.
