November 4, 2024 – In a span of 3 hours, Mt. Juliet Police officers intercepted and made five separate arrests. Each incident involved suspects, not from the community, who were traveling through, carrying active warrants or driving a stolen car from incidents that occurred outside of the city.

Here’s a quick look at these three incidents:

1) Signal Violation Stop: Officers pulled over a vehicle for a traffic violation and uncovered two adult individuals from Nashville and Murfreesboro with serious charges. One man, with active warrants for aggravated sexual battery involving a minor, was also found with suspected fentanyl. His passenger, a convicted felon, was carrying four firearms—one of which was stolen. Both were swiftly arrested and booked.

2) License Plate Reader Alert: Thanks to the #MJGuardianShield program, officers were alerted to a stolen vehicle passing through the city. The car, a 2016 Toyota stolen out of Nashville, was intercepted on Mt. Juliet Rd. near Division St., and an adult male from Nashville was taken into custody.

3) Improper Display of Plate Violation Stop: A traffic stop for a false temporary tag led to the arrest of two men with extensive warrant histories spanning multiple counties and even states. Drugs and illegal weapons charges were among their open warrants, and officers uncovered additional possession of methamphetamine during the stop.
