Man Sentenced in Gravesite Vandalisms in Lebanon

February 26, 2024 – On Friday, Justin Emler, of Wilson County, was sentenced for vandalizing several gravestones at Cedar Grove Cemetery and Wilson County Memorial Gardens in July 2022.

Emler was found to have vandalized an estimated $60,000 in headstones between the two graveyards.

When the vandalisms occurred, Sgt. Johnson and Sgt. Pruitte immediately began investigating the crimes, and their diligent work was crucial in reaching Friday’s outcome. During the course of the investigation, it was also discovered that Emler was involved in multiple golf car thefts in Lebanon as well, adding an additional two years to his sentence.

Emler was sentenced to ten years in prison.
