On Saturday, November 11, Lebanon Fire Department quickly responded to multiple grass fires reported on I-40.

Westbound lanes at mile marker 238 and eastbound lanes at mile marker 236 were shut down as a result. LFD crews worked swiftly to gain control and reopen the interstate.

One of the biggest causes of fires, be it structural or a wildfire, are discarded cigarette butts.

Please ensure to use caution especially during dry and windy conditions to help prevent and alleviate the risk of fires.
