Heading into this morning, Larry was upgraded to a hurricane and continues to pick up speed and strength overtime. The National Hurricane Center expects Larry to be a major hurricane by Saturday morning.

Currently, Larry is moving NW at 17mph. This is very slow, but it will gain speed over the next 24 hours and the sustained speeds will pick up as well. The current sustained speeds are at 80 mph; however, in order for Larry to become a major hurricane, the wind speeds need to exceed 110 mph.

According to the National Hurricane Center discussion posted this morning, not much has changed path wise and seems to be staying on track with the predicted travel. We will continue to provide updates on Hurricane Larry as it intensifies over the next few days.

There are currently no warnings or hazards in effect for landfall.
