The Green Hill High School community is grieving the death of senior Zoe Hawkins.
In a statement, Green Hill High School described Hawkins as a student known for her love of music, bright personality, and welcoming spirit. School officials said she was especially active in the choir program and was rarely seen without a smile. Hawkins had recently shared news of her college acceptance and was looking ahead to the next chapter of her life, making the loss especially difficult for those who knew her.
Her life will be celebrated Thursday, March 5, at Hermitage Funeral Home & Memorial Gardens. Visitation is scheduled from 4 to 6 p.m., with a brief service to follow.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations in Hawkins’ name to the Green Hill High School Choir Department, honoring her passion for music and dedication to the program.
Wilson County Schools also expressed condolences to Zoe’s family and friends, describing her as a bright and talented student who will be missed by many across the district.
Counseling and support resources are expected to be available for students and staff as the community continues to process the loss.
