An EF-1 tornado touched down in Wilson County on Thursday, WSMV reports. According to the National Weather Service, the storm carved a path 11.6 miles long and 300 yards wide.

The tornado first touched down near Nashville Superspeedway on Vesta Road where the force swept through, breaking limbs and tearing at buildings. Then it surged toward Flatwoods Road and Murfreesboro Road, hitting harder—wrecking parts of houses and stripping the land of its cover.

By the time it reached Cedar Forest Road, the scene had turned grim. Woodlands were gashed open, trunks snapped like twigs, roots exposed. Onward it went through Chicken Road and Southeast TaterPeeler Road, leaving marks behind—more wreckage, more signs of what had passed.

NWS reported peak winds reached 105 miles per hour.
