September 11, 2024 – An increased presence in law enforcement was seen at Mt. Juliet Middle School Wednesday morning after an anonymous tip was received from a concerned parent regarding a generalized threat that was being distributed around on Snapchat.

As a safety measure, due to the short time between initially receiving the tip to the beginning of school, extra presence by SROs and MJPD were on hand along with K-9 Zander and K-9 Zena to ensure a safe arrival for students and staff.

The threat floating around on Snapchat had originally started from another county in Tennessee and was not directed towards MJMS and has been determined to be non-credible.

“We encourage parents to have discussions with their child about the use of social media platforms and the importance of not sharing false information, and more importantly, contact your local law enforcement agency directly upon any concerns of a possible threat,” WCSO stated.
