Cross Country Announces 2023 Schedule

LEBANON, Tenn.–After being announced as the new head coach of both the men’s and women’s cross country programs, Josh McMillan has released this upcoming season’s schedule.

The 2023 season will include four regular season meets with the Phoenix kicking off their season in Marion, Indiana, on September 8th. The Wildcat Invitational is set to begin with the women’s 5k being run at 6:00 p.m., followed by the men’s 8k at 6:40 p.m.

Competing the following weekend on September 15th, Cumberland will travel to Bowling Green, Kentucky to take part in the Western Kentucky Cross Country Invitational. The men start off festivities running the 8k at 4:00 p.m., while the women’s 5k will be held shortly after at 5:00 p.m.

Eclipsing the midway point of the season, the Phoenix will make their return to the “Live in Lou” Louisville Cross Country Classic on September 30th, where they have now run for four consecutive seasons. Times for the event are yet to be released.

Wrapping up their regular season on October 21st, Cumberland will take part in their first and only in-state meet, running in Knoxville at the NAIA Appalachian Challenge. Times for the event are yet to be released.

Mid-South Conference Championships take place on November 3rd, where CU will again return to Bowling Green, Kentucky and Phil Moore Park.

NAIA National Championships wrap up the season as it returns to Vancouver, Washington this year on November 17th.
