At the Lebanon Planning Commission meeting in August, a proposal for a new Walmart was approved for the City of Lebanon. This new store is planned for the Wilson Farm property, located south of Interstate 40 on SR 109.

The existing Walmart on South Cumberland, which is the highest sales tax contributor in the City of Lebanon, will remain operational.

The addition of the new Walmart at Wilson Farms, along with a proposed Sam’s Club, is expected to address a gap in goods and services for the community and provide more shopping options for residents.

“Lebanon Economic Development Director, Sarah Haston, and I met with Walmart representatives in May of 2021 as they searched for a second store location in Lebanon. Wilson Farms will be a prime location as residents on that side of town can shop locally and attract shoppers from other areas by traveling through the regional corridor,” Mayor Rick Bell said. “As we prioritize the needs of Lebanon, we have also listened to community members share their interest in having more grocery store options in both areas. We are committed to finding these opportunities to make local shopping more accessible for our community while striving to find the right amenities.”
