Wilson County Sheriff’s Office has received reports over the past 24 hours of scams involving failures to appear in court.
This time, the scammers are using a callback number (615-965-5883) for you to exploit. When you call the number back, it will eventually go to a recording that begins with “The is the Wilson County Sheriff’s Office Citation and Warrants Division.”
Don’t be fooled with the message and callback number. Eventually, if you call back and they answer, they will say you can get out of a warrant by purchasing a gift card.
Always authenticate a call by phoning into Wilson County’s direct non-emergency line at 615-444-1412. Never answer an unknown number, and remember that you don’t get out of a warrant through the purchase of gift cards.
