Green Hill High School and W.A. Wright Elementary School were placed on a soft lockdown Monday as a precautionary measure.
Wilson County Sheriff’s Office confirmed there was no active threat to either school, and the information received was determined to be non-credible.
The decision to implement the soft lockdown was made out of an abundance of caution to ensure the safety of all students and staff. The Wilson County Sheriff’s Office, with the assistance of Homeland Security, conducted a thorough investigation and determined that an additional security presence at Green Hill High School was warranted. The soft lockdown at W.A. Wright Elementary School was implemented due to its close proximity to Green Hill High School, which is standard procedure in situations like this.
A soft lockdown means that normal activities continue inside the building, but visitors are limited, and outdoor activities are temporarily suspended.
The information leading to this action was provided by a neighboring agency during their investigation, which was later determined that the only school in question was in their jurisdiction- where charges have been filed.
