Message from WCS:
Wilson County Schools will be closed on Tuesday, January 18th.
Members of our district leadership and key departments have been out and about throughout the county this afternoon and have detected some roadways that are still very hazardous, especially in the southeastern part of the county.
Furthermore, tonight’s forecasted subfreezing temperatures will continue to produce black ice in many locations for tomorrow morning.
In the best interest of keeping everyone safe, we feel that by taking an inclement weather day, it will give our secondary roads added time to thaw. Tomorrow’s highs are forecasted to be in the 40’s with more sun, so that will help tremendously.
Kids Club will operate on a normal schedule on Tuesday, January 18th.
The district’s central office (ATC) will be open. All 12-month employees should report. However, should any 12-month employees feel that travel would be difficult tomorrow, then please communicate with your supervisor.
