The Wilson County Sheriff’s Office Senior Citizens Awareness Network (SCAN) is proud to announce the launch of its new initiative, ‘Safe Seniors’, aimed at educating and equipping senior citizens to effectively prepare for and respond to various weather-related emergencies.

‘Safe Seniors’ is a comprehensive severe weather preparedness initiative designed specifically for senior citizens. It seeks to empower them with the knowledge, resources, and strategies necessary to stay safe and minimize the impact of adverse weather conditions.

The initiative has three main objectives:

The goal of the ‘Safe Seniors’ initiative is to empower senior citizens by providing them with the knowledge, resources, and skills necessary to navigate weather emergencies successfully. By doing so, it aims to make seniors safer and better prepared, and more confident in the face of unpredictable weather events.

WCSO is committed to ensuring the safety and well-being of all members of the community, including our senior citizens. The ‘Safe Seniors’ initiative reflects SCAN’s dedication to proactive emergency preparedness and community engagement.
