Wilson County Schools announces that Mrs. Jennifer Yokom has been named as the new principal at Springdale Elementary.
She is no stranger to Springdale, as she’s most recently served as the school’s assistant principal. Her administrative experience goes well beyond Springdale. She’s also served as an AP at both W.A. Wright Elementary and Stoner Creek Elementary.
W.A. Wright Elementary is where she has spent the majority of her 21-year career with Wilson County Schools. She was a teacher at WAW for 12 years, and taught 2nd and 4th graders, and also taught computer classes.
Her experience at Springdale, and with elementary education overall, makes this a great fit for the school – and for her.
“I find joy in surrounding myself with people who measure their level of success by the impact that they have on others,” says Mrs. Yokom. “The Springdale Panther family does just that. It is my pleasure to continue to work with this exceptional team and continue to provide a positive, inclusive environment for all of our panthers to reach their full potential.”
Director of Schools, Jeff Luttrell made the announcement earlier today to the Springdale staff.
“The energy and passion she has for Springdale is only going to continue to move the school to incredible places,” says Mr. Luttrell. “Mrs. Christine Miller did a fantastic job while she was there, as Mrs. Yokom and her were able to do some wonderful things together. She will do an amazing job leading Springdale, and we’re just thrilled that she’s accepted the opportunity to be their principal.”
Mrs. Miller recently accepted the position of Federal Programs Supervisor with the district.
Mrs. Yokom added, “Mrs. Miller and I are continuing to work together to ensure the transition remains seamless for our students, families and staff.”
