The Wilson County Schools community is mourning the loss of a Lebanon High School student whose courage and spirit inspired many.

District officials extended condolences to the family, friends and the entire Lebanon High School community following the passing of Jayden Bailey after a years-long battle with cancer.

School leaders said Jayden captured the hearts of many as he faced his diagnosis with determination, continuing to embrace life’s joys while undergoing numerous treatments and operations. Basketball was among his greatest passions, and he remained an inspirational member of the LHS Blue Devils throughout his journey.

If you’re unfamiliar with Jayden’s journey, then here’s his story that the district shared last November around Thanksgiving: https://youtu.be/BWeOku9Dvso?si=9ArIoukUIcN1Z3yw

The district described him as a hero whose legacy will endure. Community members consistently rallied around him, offering encouragement and support as he continued to pour love into those around him.

Officials said Jayden’s strength, character and the example he set will have a lasting impact on the school and the broader community.
