A pig has been returned to its owner after wandering in Mt. Juliet Monday night.
Deputies with the Wilson County Sheriff’s Office say the pig was found roaming along Nonaville Road.
The animal was safely “detained” by a citizen until deputies could locate the owner. The sheriff’s office noted that handling loose livestock is more common than people might think.
Officials encouraged local livestock owners to sign up for the county’s Livestock Log, which helps deputies quickly return wandering animals to their rightful homes.
