On Wednesday afternoon, two shoplifters fled the Dollar General at 13820 Lebanon Rd in a vehicle.
As the call was being dispatched, MJPD’s Advanced Response Communications Center (ARCC) quickly entered the suspect vehicle into the license plate reader system so it could begin looking for the criminal-involved vehicle. Moments later, the system alerted on the vehicle’s plates on Lebanon Rd near Mt. Juliet Rd. Responding officers quickly located the vehicle parked at the nearby Walgreens. When officers made contact with the driver, an adult male passenger attempted to leave the stop but was quickly apprehended by officers.
The passenger, a 66-year-old Nashville man, was wanted by Nashville authorities for five felony probation violations and also had an active Wilson County summons for Theft of Merchandise. He was additionally charged in the theft.
The driver, a 34-year-old Nashville woman, was found to be driving on a revoked driver license and was also charged in Wednesday’s theft.
Both were arrested and transported to the Wilson County Jail. The stolen property was recovered and returned to Dollar General.
